What happens after you send the form

Here is the process, step by step, so you know what to expect.

  1. 1. We read your request

We look at what you want done, what the house is like, and where it is. We usually reply the same day, by phone or text, if anything needs clarifying.

  2. 2. Local companies get in touch

We pass your request to independent gutter installation, guard and repair companies that work in your area. They contact you to ask questions or set up a visit to measure.

  3. 3. You get a quote

Seamless gutters are priced by the linear foot after someone measures the roof edge, counts downspouts and looks at the fascia, so most quotes follow a site visit; a simple reseal or a short repair is sometimes priced from photos. The company you speak with sets the price, scope and timing, not us.

  4. 4. You decide

Compare the written scope, ask questions, and hire only if it suits you. There is no obligation and no cost to request a quote.

Details that help you get an accurate quote

  • Stories and rough roof perimeter: a one-story ranch and a two-story walkout are priced differently, and the linear footage drives the number. Pacing the drip line of the house gets a company close; a typical home runs somewhere between about 100 and 200 feet, and exact feet come from the measure.
  • What is there now: no gutters, sectional aluminum or vinyl, steel, or seamless gutters that are dented, sagging or pulling off the fascia. Say whether you want the old gutters removed and hauled away.
  • Material and size you are leaning toward: 5-inch or 6-inch K-style; aluminum, steel or copper; half-round on an older house. If you don’t know, say so and ask the company to quote both 5-inch and 6-inch.
  • Downspouts and drainage: how many downspouts you have, whether any discharge next to the foundation, whether the basement or crawlspace has ever taken water, and whether you want extensions, splash blocks or buried drains to daylight.
  • Trees and snow: ponderosa pines, cottonwoods or scrub oak overhead (guards), and whether the roof edge builds ice or icicles in winter (heat cable). Mention the elevation if you are in Monument, Black Forest, Gleneagle or Woodland Park; above 7,000 feet, PPRBD’s re-roof rules call for an ice barrier, which tells you how seriously ice is taken there.
  • Hail or a re-roof: whether the gutters were damaged in a storm (and which one), whether a roofing contractor is already involved, and whether an insurance claim is open. Ask your insurer what your policy covers; the companies cannot tell you that.
  • HOA or historic district: whether an architectural review committee must approve color or profile. Woodmoor, for example, requires approval for any exterior modification; much of Manitou Springs is a National Register historic district.
  • Access: steep lots, long driveways, a second story over a walkout, power lines near the eave, or a metal roof. These change the ladder work and sometimes the price.
  • Photos: a shot of each side of the house from the yard, any leaking corner or sagging run, and where the downspouts land helps a company quote faster.

Before the companies call

Ask every company for a current certificate of liability insurance and proof of workers’ compensation coverage, a written itemized quote (material, gauge, width, hanger spacing, downspout count and size, color, removal and disposal), and the manufacturer’s and installer’s warranties in writing. Colorado has no state license for gutter work and PPRBD has no gutter license class, since it licenses only work that needs a permit and stand-alone gutter work generally does not; confirm with PPRBD (719-327-2883) for your project. If the gutters are part of a re-roof, ask for the contractor’s PPRBD D-1 roofing license number and the permit number. Our about page has the full list of questions to ask.

Wondering about price? Seamless aluminum gutters typically run $4–$9 per linear foot (HomeAdvisor) to $7–$13 (Fixr), with a Colorado Springs cost directory listing $5.80–$10.20; steel runs about $7–$12 and copper $15–$32 per foot; 6-inch adds about $3–$5 per foot; a whole home of about 200 feet of aluminum lands roughly between $1,200 and $4,200 depending on source and site. Gutter guards run $6–$13 per foot installed, repairs $194–$643, and a heat cable system $900–$1,800. These are typical ranges from HomeAdvisor (2026), Fixr (2025) and a Colorado Springs cost directory (2025), estimates, not quotes. See the cost guide for the full table and how the process works.

Timing matters more than most people expect. Colorado Springs gets 15.91 inches of precipitation a year, but July (3.12 in.) and August (2.96 in.) are the wettest months by far, arriving as short afternoon thunderstorms that also carry the hail, and the city averages 32.5 inches of snow with March the snowiest month (NOAA 1991–2020 normals, Colorado Springs airport). Requesting quotes in spring or fall usually means dry ground, open schedules and time to think, instead of the week after a storm when every roofer and gutter crew in the county is booked. If a seam is already dripping onto the foundation, see gutter repair.
